Introduction to the metal container committee of t

  • Detail

Introduction to the metal container committee of China Association for packaging industry review since the reform and opening up 20 years ago, under the guidance of Comrade Deng Xiaoping's theory of building socialism with Chinese characteristics and the party's basic line, China's economic development has undergone earth shaking changes compared with 30 years ago. In order to change the backwardness of China's packaging industry, the China Packaging Technology Association was established in December 1980 with the approval of the State Council, which is the first pilot association in China. Four months later, the metal container professional committee was established in April, 1981. Over the past 20 years, under the leadership of China Packaging Association and the support of relevant departments and member units, the metal container packaging industry has made great progress. Now, a metal packaging system integrating tin printing can making, cans, aerosol cans, bottle caps and steel drums has been formed, which is one of the important categories under the leadership of China Packaging Association

after 20 years of ups and downs, the metal container committee has developed rapidly from small to large and from weak to strong. In 1979, 20 years ago, the metal container packaging industry did not have its own industry organization. At that time, there were only less than 200 enterprises in the country, and most of them were small and medium-sized enterprises. By the beginning of 1990, they had grown to more than 700, with an increase of more than 500 in 10 years, and an average of 50 enterprises were born every year. In particular, the period of the Eighth Five Year Plan (1991-95) was the heyday of the development of metal containers, reaching 1100 by the end of 1995. At present, according to close statistics, it has reached as many as 1500, mostly in Guangdong, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong and other places, and Guangdong is the most. In recent years, the Beijing Tianjin region and the three northeastern provinces have developed rapidly

the main reasons for the rapid development of metal container packaging industry are: first, foreign investors have targeted the big market of China and flocked to China to invest and set up factories with different testing speeds for different materials; Second, the macro maladjustment of township enterprises blindly launched, resulting in oversupply in the market in recent years, and some enterprises have a situation of semi shutdown and loss, entering a trough, which is only a temporary phenomenon. This year is better than last year. With the increase in production in related industries, metal containers ushered in the rising sun

II. Current industry overview

although there are some difficulties at present, on the whole, the trend of development in the future is promising. According to statistics, the total production of metal container packaging products has made important breakthroughs in the high-performance and environmental protection of products. At the end of 1979, compared with the end of 2000, it increased from 350000 tons to 1.6 million tons, an increase of 3.6 times, and made brilliant achievements

metal container packaging is a kind of high-end packaging loved by consumers. There are many kinds and shapes. The main products include: Aluminum two-piece cans, two-piece tinplate cans, three piece tinplate cans, aerosol cans, canned food cans, various solid food barrels, cans, boxes, anti-theft covers, crown covers, unscrew covers, easy pull covers and steel barrels of different specifications. The advantages of metal packaging are: beautiful printing on the outside, anti-corrosion coating on the inside, long shelf life, easy to carry. It makes a positive contribution to food, cans, the original design of fully prestressed concrete bridge may become the commodity packaging supporting services of some prestressed concrete beam beverage, grease, chemical industry, medicine, cultural and educational supplies, cosmetics and other related industries. Foreign funded enterprises have high starting point, large investment, advanced equipment, exquisite technology and talents, and advanced enterprise management has promoted the rapid development of the metal container industry. According to the preliminary investigation, in the metal industry, state-owned enterprises account for 33%, foreign-funded enterprises account for 25%, collective enterprises account for 31.5%, wholly foreign-owned enterprises account for 3%, private enterprises account for 7%, and state-owned enterprises still dominate. However, in terms of scale and assets, the economic strength of foreign-funded enterprises ranks first

III. future development trend

1. China's economy will continue to develop, and the commodity production of metal container packaging related industries is bound to show an increasing trend in the future, which will gradually push the metal container packaging industry out of the trough. According to research, the food industry has developed the fastest. In 1997, the total output value of the food industry reached more than 530 billion yuan, ranking first in the light industry in China. In many food fields, there will always be a considerable number of products in metal barrels

2. The beverage industry has developed rapidly, with a wide range of beverage varieties, and brands have doubled in recent years. The beverage industry is booming. The beverage industry started relatively late. It can be traced back to 1982, when China's annual output of beverages was only 440000 tons, and the annual output was mainly less than 0.43 kg due to buffer failure; In 1992, it reached 4.2 million tons, with an annual per capita of 4.4 kg; By 1998, the national beverage output had reached 12million tons, with an annual per capita of 9.6 kg. In other words, from 1982 to 1998, it increased 22 times, 1.8 times higher than 1992. The main reasons for the rapid development are the increased efforts to crack down on counterfeiting, the increase in varieties, the improvement in quality, and people's attention to the nutritional value of beverages and the emergence of many brands, which have promoted the great development. In the field of beverages, although plastic bottles, glass bottles, Tetra Pak and other packaging occupy a certain share, two-piece cans and three piece cans are still dominant

3. Canning industry: China's canning industry began in 1906, when Shanghai Taifeng food company was the first food cannery in China. Since then, some workshop canning factories have been established in a few cities. In 1949, the national output of canned food was only 484 tons, and canned food was a new industry gradually developed from 1953. It has become one of the major industries in the food industry. In 1953, there were only more than 20 Canners in China. By 1997, it had grown to 1495 Canners in size, with an annual output of 2.54 million tons. The highest year was 1995, when it reached 305 tons, of which 860000 tons were exported. In recent years, the average annual export volume was about 700.8 million tons. Its varieties are mainly mushrooms, asparagus, horseshoes, broad beans, oranges, white peaches, lunch meat, steamed beef, steamed pork, ketchup, etc. the export volume of each kind is more than 10000 tons, and its export volume ranks first in the world. It is estimated that by 2005, the total amount of canned food in China will reach 4.5 million tons, the export volume will reach 1.2 million tons, and the export volume will reach 8million tons in 2010. Among them, metal can packaging accounts for an important share, and the export can packaging is mainly tinplate cans. According to relevant data, the tinplate industry consumes about 350000 tons of tinplate every year

4. Beer: in 1999, the national output has reached 20million tons, becoming the second largest beer production country in the world, in which the packaging is mainly bottled. Among them, about 4% of beer is packed in two-piece cans. If calculated at 4%, there are 800000 tons of two-piece cans, with an annual demand of about 25 trillion. It is expected that in the future, with the improvement of consumers' living standards, aluminum two-piece cans have the advantages of long shelf life, easy to carry and open the lid, and the market share of metal cans will continue to grow

5. With the economic growth, the oil chemical industry, petroleum products, medicine, culture and education, cosmetics and other industries are bound to rise. The demand for metal cans in these industries will double

although it has the above advantages, it also has some disadvantages. After China's entry into WTO, it is facing more fierce competition at home and abroad. The author's humble opinion is that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages for the packaging industry after China's entry into WTO. What are the advantages? We believe that although foreign goods swarmed into China after China's entry into the WTO, it is bound to be uneconomical and temporary to transport them from the contents to China across the ocean. In the long run, foreign businessmen will gradually set up factories in China. As long as the quality of empty cans meets the requirements of foreign investors, they still use domestic barrels. Secondly, due to the reduction of tariffs after China's entry into the WTO, the import prices of tinplate, aluminum and related auxiliary materials must be reduced, which is conducive to the cost reduction of the domestic tank industry. The disadvantage is that if the quality of our products does not meet the requirements, they may still transport empty cans from abroad to fill the real objects in China. There will be such a situation, which is unlikely

IV. development strategy in the new century

1 With the advent of the new century, judging from the current situation, the related industries are increasing production, which will pull the metal container industry out of the trough. After China's entry into the WTO, the competition will be more intense, so we must win with quality. Domestic peers should not lose money and reduce prices. Why do we have a raging war and smoke of gunpowder. We should consciously abide by the principle of price self-discipline and unite to discuss major issues in the industry. Although price coordination is difficult, we are ready to invite leading enterprises in the industry to hold a symposium to discuss price coordination

2. In order to meet the challenges after China's entry into WTO, domestic enterprises and foreign enterprises will compete on the same starting line on the world economic stage. The key depends on the comprehensive strength. Only by organizing large groups can they be competitive. We can no longer follow the path of small, large and single handed. We should gradually move towards professional production and launch packaging brand products. Only with high-quality products, reasonable prices and good after-sales service can there be a way out, and it is suggested that powerful enterprises form large groups to be competitive internationally

3. On the issue of the western development, the central government proposed the western development strategy to speed up the development of the western region, which is of great significance to expand domestic demand and promote the sustained growth of the national economy. The packaging industry is no exception. With the westward development of food industry, canning industry, beverage industry, beer industry, oil and chemical industry and many other related industries, the metal packaging industry should be prepared in advance. The packaging industry in the eastern region is dense, and people of insight should advance to the West. Wahaha Group has taken the lead in the beverage industry in the six years of western expansion and achieved greater development. However, the packaging industry should conduct research and follow closely the enterprises that need metal packaging barrels and cans, and can cooperate or associate with them. The association can go to the western region together with large enterprise groups with the intention of going west for research, and ask the help of the local packaging Association for on-the-spot investigation, so as not to fight a battle of uncertainty

4. The introduction of talents is more important. At present, the competition for talents at home and abroad is fierce, and the promotion of education through science and technology takes the lead. While introducing high-quality talents, we should strengthen the cultivation of cultural and technical quality for personnel with low original quality, and adopt the method of combining short-term training with further study in Colleges and universities, so as to improve the quality of all staff
